Making a new key from a rectangular nut for the drive pulley and cleaning the rust off the cutter head that has accumulated over the last 5 years in my unheated shed.
I then heat up the smaller bearing so that the oil will penetrate. My thinking is that the oil will soften and reactivate the grease that was already inside the bearing.
Finally, I mixed up some epoxy to put in the end of the pulley and heated that up to flow better. That went down around the threads on the end of the shaft and will give extra support. If I ever need to change the bearing in that end, the pulley should still come off without much fuss.
